About The Producer

Diallo Sumbry is the President and Founder of The Adinkra Group - an African Cultural Resource Company based in Washington, DC.  Diallo has called Washington, DC his home for the past 25+ years, is an avid Backyard Band fan and lover of all things African - both traditional and modern. Through an African Ancestry DNA test, he traces his maternal roots to the Funali People of modern day Nigeria and paternal roots to the Teke people of modern day Gabon.

The Adinkra Group is an African Cultural Resource Company based in Washington, DC. Our mission is to connect people of African descent with the culture and traditions of Africa through the Arts and Education. We fulfill our mission through the following:
